April 27th, 2011 was the scariest, most devastating day that Alabama has had in a long time. From Tuscaloosa, all the way past my area to Bridgeport was twisted, crumbled, broken, and destroyed by the most violent tornadoes. So many people lost so much. Lost family members, lives, and everything they have ever known. My community dodged the bullet. The only thing we dealt with was no power for 3 days. I wish that was the only thing that everyone had to deal with. We were very blessed.
I finished this semester of school. Whew. It was rough, and I learned something about myself. I don't handle being "taught" very well. Explanation......
While I have been at Athens, I have either taken online classes, or blended classes. Blended classes are half online, half in class. You meet with your professor once a month for the whole semester. You do your work on your own like an online class, but meet for questions and such once a month in class.
Anywho, this semester was a tad different. I decided to try going to Athens to class. I took two classes at Athens, and it seemed like I struggled more this semester than I have the whole time I've been going. I just could not get a grip on what they wanted, I felt extremely lost, and it was just a mess. This fall will be my last semester of academics!! I have decided to take all online or blended classes, and only go over to Athens when I have to. I do much better with online classes and teaching myself in a way. My professor is there when I need them.
Work at the "C" has been busy. Ever since the devastation, we have been really crazy busy. I hope to work a lot this summer, gather some extra cash, and plan a getaway trip for a weekend. I'm thinking the beach would be great. I would love to go shopping, layout, eat, and relax.
I received a text message the other day from Verizon saying I was eligible for an early upgrade. Yahoo!! I love my cell phone. I was excited to shop for a new one. I found one that I thought I would try to see if I liked. It is an LG Cosmos Touch.....my very first touch screen phone. I L-O-V-E it. It has a touch screen, and slides out for a full keyboard to text with. My last phone had the keyboard and I loved it. So for this to be both touch and keyboard, it is great.
Now, I'm caught up....sort of. I'm gonna join mannland5 for now in Getting to Know You! I like jumping on bandwagons doing different things. I hope I can join in a lot more this week! I'm ready to start getting back into my blog. I have been reading everyone else's, trying to catch up with that too. I'm going to do some research and find something to blog about every day for a whole week. That will be fun!

1. have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself?
No, and I don't think I would like it. I really don't like going places by myself anyway.
2. would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane?
Hurricane. I know that both can be deadly, but with tornadoes, sometimes you don't have time to take cover and be safe. With a hurricane, you are given plenty of time to prepare.
3. have you made summer vacation plans?
Not really. I have ideas, but as far as plans go, I haven't called anywhere or booked anything.
4. what's your favorite accessory (can't be jewelry)?
This summer, my yellow bag that I got from JCP. It's so pretty!
5. have you ever been thrown a surprise party?
No, but I think it would be fun!
6. are you friends with your neighbors?
Yes, my neighbors are my family. It's wonderful :)
7. what's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Rio, and it was so cute! It had a fun storyline and was interesting. I love Disney movies.
8 what's your favorite food network show?
Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! I've gotten hooked on that.
I work everyday this week, but finally get a Saturday off!
