2010 Review

Today is the last day of the year, and I can't believe it's here! This year flew by, with so many things happening. Let's say good-bye to the year in blog world by doing a review of what was important enough to talk about to the world :)

January
I began the year by cleaning of course ha! Chad was starting little league basketball at his school, and it was so fun to watch them play. I started this year without a job, which was kinda refreshing because I always work! I paid for my Substitute Teacher license, and started doing that a few days out of the month. I started watching what I ate, and did a bad job from the beginning! I started reading a book called "Laughter for A Woman's Soul." My family and I watched Alabama win their 13th National Title! Roll Tide!! I started classes again, and didn't like Art, because I actually had to do Art ha! My Great-Grandmother passed away. It was expected, but always sad. Nothing ever prepares you for that. We also had a freak tornado near our area in January! Talk about a scary moment! It was right outside my dad's workplace. Luckily, all my family made it home safe!

February
The winter weather did me in! This was one of the coldest months ever, with snow and ice! Yuck! It was so bad, that 49 of the 50 states seen snow one day! Wow! UAH had a freak accident. A faculty member opened fire in a meeting, killing three other members. I blogged about watching some tv shows that I had grown to like. I had a lot of free time! I also wished the cold weather away many times that I blogged.

March
We started out the month with 4 inches of snow. I kept up with The Bachelor and American Idol of course! I was on a yogurt kick this month, eating a cup of it everyday just about ha! I went to the movies and watched "Alice In Wonderland" which was amazing, and my favorite movie! I started following a new blogger! The Diva Bee!! I also played along with her Music Monday fun! My family and I went to the Hunter Museum of Art for my brother and I to go through for our Art classes. I love that museum. My brother and I also started exercising this month. I hit a pretty good shopping deal this month at Burke's  Outlet. I received my first blog award from The Diva Bee. She gave me the Sugar Doll award!!

April
I finally ended the Art class that I hated, and passed with an A!! Woohoo! I covered a few things that I love in pictures. I received another blog award! The best part, I ended the semester, and had a 17-week summer break!

May
I bought a book about my favorite actor, Heath Ledger. I posted pictures of sunsets :)  I did a major change to my hair, and decided not to cut it that short again ha! We celebrated Mother's Day for my mom, and both my grandma's. I also reflected on the day I lost my grandpa. I finally got a 2-year upgrade on my phone, and was able to purchase a new one! I blogged about the season ending on my favorite shows. I started a new job as a Pharmacy Technician. What planned to be a summer job, I still have! I really enjoy it.

June
It finally turned hot, and instead of me complaining about winter cold, I was complaining about the summer heat!! I got to go get scrubs for my job. I have never worn scrubs before, so it was fun trying on different ones! I bought new shoes for work, and still love them. We celebrated Father's Day with my dad. I also got to see what I could sign up for to begin the fall semester of school.

July
We spent the 4th of July at Bridgestreet! It was so fun, and the fireworks were wonderful. We also made smores for the first time! Yum-o! Those things are so good, but very sweet. I talked about how work was going, registering for classes, and my followers! Woo!! I was extremely ready for fall to be here during July. It was so hot that month.

August
I was able to prepare for the Teacher Education Program interview. My cousin's baby was due anytime, and her shower was in this month. She was expecting a girl! It was so fun seeing her, and hanging out with her. I also started back to school, and decided to keep my job!

September
It was my 22nd Birthday this month!! Nothing special happened. On September 1st, my cousin had her baby girl, and Miss Hayleigh was welcomed. She was so tiny, adorable, and I fell in love with her! Things started slowing down in blog world due to work, family, and school. Homework was overtaking me!

October
My family and I decided to take a last minute vacation to the Smokies! It was amazingly fun, and much needed. We hiked, shopped, and walked the streets. We also we to a few museums. Ate some great food too! I got to see the Goo Goo Dolls in concert for the first time! They are my favorite band, and I have always wanted to see them in concert. It was amazing. Better than I ever expected, and would LOVE to see them again! This month was also my brother's Birthday! He is a Halloween baby! Also this month, I gained another follower!

November
I was enjoying the fall weather by this month. I did one of the best field experience's this month at a school that I loved. Thanksgiving was great, and this is my favorite holiday. I also did the Teacher Education Program interview.

December
I was accepted into the Teacher Education Program!! I was declared a Senior in college!! Work really picked up with the cold weather coming in making people sick. Hayleigh was three months old, and growing! I bought my cousin's car since she had Hayleigh! 2003 Mustang! My mom and brother's birthdays were this month! We also had our first White Christmas. It was so pretty. Annoying to drive in though! Christmas was fun, and we went sledding the day after Christmas.

And now, it's New Year's Eve!! This year flew by, and as you can read, I was very busy. Tonight, I cooked Taco Soup for the first time. My gosh it was so good! We will definitely be having that again. I hope everyone has a safe night. Happy New Year, and see you on the other side!!

White Christmas

For the first time in my 22 years, we had a white Christmas. I really hate cold weather, and snow, but it is so pretty. I hoped that the weathermen would be wrong, and that it would bypass us somehow. Saturday morning, mom woke me up opening my curtain to tell me there was a blanket of snow on everything. My reaction, "You have got to be freakin' kidding me." She wasn't. It was flat out beautiful though.

Saturday morning we opened gifts at home. After a little bit of playing and cleaning, we got ready to go to my grandmother's for breakfast. The roads were so bad, that my cousin who lives in Nashville was too afraid to risk the drive. My uncle from Birmingham went ahead and took on the slushy roads, and made it safe. We ate and opened gifts. Then, Miss Hannah Grace was ready to go outside and play in the snow. They built a big snowman, and a Little Hannah Grace snowman haha! It was really cute, and she really enjoyed it. And now, for some pictures:

I love snow-covered Cedar trees!

You can barely see the road!

Almost 5 inches, and we ended with 5 1/2 inches

My Brother and I

It's knee deep on the poor girl!!

She kept saying, "I sit down in the snow, Mommy."

The gifts I received this year were so wonderful! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, caring, and loving family.

  • Houndstooth scarf
  • Suede gloves
  • Itunes card (brother)
  • Wool coat
  • Alice In Wonderland DVD (brother)
  • Vest with a fur hood
  • A book called, "Your First Year of Teaching"  I can't get my nose out of it!!
  • I had to share this picture! Inside this was full of candy! All my favorites :)
Love the stocking!! I got it at work for really, really cheap. Roll Tide!

  • An Alabama 2011 Calendar (Grandma)
  • Socks (Grandma)
  • Some money (Grandma)
  • Rue21 gift card (my cousin)
The day after Christmas, there was enough snow to go sledding. It was so cold, and the wind had picked up, so that wasn't helping. We only got to stay out for about an hour. It was so much fun though. We haven't been sledding in about 10 years, maybe longer.

So this Christmas was pretty awesome. The snow is still here today, but not as much. Hopefully the roads will be cleared enough for me to go to work tomorrow!!

One Step Closer

To graduating! I was accepted into the Teacher Education Program! One less worry right now. Next time I worry about school will be next semester when I take the Praxis II test. I've heard it is pretty tough. I hope I can pass it the first time. I only have one more final for this semester to take, and I will OFFICIALLY be a senior in college!! Wow, I never thought this time would come, and here it is. I'm so excited, nervous, and ready to be done with it.

In other news.....well, there is no other news really. I'm working a lot. This is a sick time of year, and boy can you tell at the Pharmacy! We are filling antibiotics like crazy! One day, a Tech counted how many bottles of antibiotics she added water to, and it was 9 in one day! Sadly, I believe that I am coming down with something along with everyone else. I've been sneezing, sniffling, and suffering a sore throat, along with my ears hurting. Blah!! Hopefully my flu shot will work, and it won't get any worse than this.

Hayleigh is still growing!! I don't have any new pics from my camera, just my phone. Those don't look very good. She is smiling now! And she is starting to try to pull herself up which is so funny to watch. She is doing good about holding her head steady. December 1st, she was 3 months old. Already!!

Since Hayleigh has been in this world, her mommy and daddy have been trying to sell their car to get a bigger one so it will be easy to take her places. I really liked the car that they had, and there was no way that a car seat was going to fit in there! I wished so bad that I could buy it. One day, I decided to go to the bank and just see if maybe I could get the loan. It didn't matter to me if I did get approved, or if I didn't. I have small credit, so I imagined that the bank would laugh at me and say, "nope." Well, they decided to take a chance on me.......

I am the proud owner of a 2003 Ford Mustang! It has been taken care of very well. I love that I was able to help them, and also get something that was my own. In my name. Now I will be working extra hours so I can keep it ha!
