This week has gone by so slow. Slower than a turtle in my world. I have no idea what is up about that. This whole month has flown, and all of a sudden decides to come to a screaming halt?? I haven't blogged in a while because, well, there hasn't been anything going on. Minor things I guess, but nothing good enough to post. Until today......
Tuesday night was the last performance of American Idol, and the result show if Dancing With the Stars. Since I was finishing up Idol, I didn't get to see the look on Erin Andrews face when she was eliminated. I was so afraid she was going to win. For some reason, I'm just not fond of her. My favorite dancer of the show won the Mirrorball trophy this year...........
I always go for Team Derek. I did like Chad and Cheryl too, but I figured he wouldn't make it. He just couldn't seem to move like he was supposed to consistently.
American Idol also went my way this year. It won't be the same next year with Simon leaving and all. Also, I feel that the more talented people either didn't make it to 24, or were let go early. I liked this boy from day one though.........
He was so shocked. I was hoping he could pull it off. I can't wait to download and hear "Beautiful Day" on the radio.
Remember the post about me hunting for a job this summer? Well, the hunt is over. Last Monday, I put in several different places. On Wednesday, Cato's called me wanting to do paperwork and an interview. I have always wanted to work at Cato's. Before CVS I put in there, and during CVS I asked if Cato's needed an extra person. They never had an opening. Now, the were needing someone. So I was excited. I went Wednesday, did paperwork, interview, and then went home waiting on my background check to come back.
On Friday, I get a call from another place. Somewhere that I knew the manager pretty well. Somewhere that my cousin worked at and really liked it. Somewhere that I already had the experience they were looking for. Somewhere that was offering more money. A whole dollar more than what Cato's was offering. So, he told me to think about it, and let him know this week. I dropped off my application at his store Saturday, and we talked on Monday. Now, yes I have always wanted Cato's. But the way I see it, something has either gotten in the way, or kept me from getting that job. I see this as a way to keep me out for some reason that I would not be aware of until I was working there. I saw this other job as a way to not go with Cato's.
So today was my first day at a local pharmacy. It is not a corporate store. Very family oriented. Many benefits other than insurance and other things people list as "benefits". It didn't really feel like a first day. More like a brush up on skills I gained at CVS. I think my actual learning experience will happen next week. I am a Pharmacy Technician. Cashier. Things that I feel comfortable with. That I have been a part of for a long time. Things that I honestly would like to do over every job that is offered without my degree. Maybe......this is a big maybe......I would do this if I didn't get a teaching job right away. Maybe I have come to like being a Pharmacy Tech. Maybe that is my plan B.
But, like I said, big maybe.

Season End
Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great week! The weather has been so good the past two days. We had a rainy weekend, so the sun has been wonderful. Yesterday was a little humid to start, but by the afternoon came it was beautiful. My mom and I decided to go to the local park to walk. We walked two miles today, and boy was it refreshing! I really enjoyed it, and hopefully we will go back tomorrow.
Yesterday I went job hunting. Since school is almost over with, I decided to find something to keep me cashed in for the summer. I made a list of places I feel like I wouldn't mind working at and headed out. I was feeling a little down about looking for a job since no one seems to want to quit their current job due to it being hard to find a new one. I wanted to try anyways. Since I have my Pharmacy Technician license, it was a plus to check out the pharmacies that didn't include CVS.....ha! Hibbett's had a hiring sign in their window....Yay! And Cato's had a girl just quit on them....Another plus!! Another Pharmacy said that he just lost one person, and two others were about to leave. I know the manager pretty well, so that was a double plus. So the summer job is looking better and better. I plan to do a follow-up on a couple, and hope to hear from someone soon!
I believe my t.v. watching is starting to come to an end. I usually have a show that I watch every day of the week. All I see advertised now are "season finales." The Amazing Race ended last Sunday. I was pulling for the Cowboys........
They were flat out hilarious, and played fair with everyone else. Sadly, they came in second. They would have won if it wasn't for these boys cutting in the ticket line at the airport, and begging the flight attendant to bump them up to first class secretly...........
I really hoped they wouldn't win!
Survivor was by far the best season ever this spring!! They did a heroes verses villains, combining the past 19 seasons together and coming up with the best good players against the best bad players, behavior wise. It was so awesome to watch this season, and for the first time they had their second million dollar winner.......
Now what is amazing about this girl winning for the second time is that for the second time, she didn't do anything. She didn't help out at camp, was the first person out of every challenge, and pretty much rode coattails the whole time! She still won! What was so funny was for the second season in a row, the guy, Russell, went to the final three and still didn't win the title of Soul Survivor!! He played last season, and was just terrible to everyone. But he won challenges and immunity. He played the exact same way this season, and still didn't win. Ha! He did however, for the second time, win the fan votes which banks him one hundred thousand dollars.
American Idol is winding down!! Three left, and my favorite is still in it to win it!!
aaahhhhh......Isn't he just adorable? He can sing pretty good too! he started out a little rough, but has turned out to be great. This season if Idol just didn't get me like the past. The talent was lacking, I feel that the judges dismissed ones that had better talent than others. I don't see Idol going much farther. Their ratings have gone down drastically. Hopefully I will be posting next week that he won =)
Grey's Anatomy is one of the best drama shows out. ABC has posted a spoiler to this Thursday's Finale, and boy is it heart pounding!! I told myself, "you are not going to watch this spoiler. It will either make you disappointed, or make you want to watch more." Well, let's just say I can't wait to watch the rest of it!! Also, The Mentalist Finale is on at the same time Grey's final hour is on, so I will be saving all of Grey's for Hulu on Friday so I can watch all of it at the same time. The Mentalist is getting very good, and Thursday's Finale is going to be great!!
Let's not forget that Miss Ali is going to be on this summer with The Bachelorette!!! I absolutely loved Ali on last season's Bachelor, so I will for sure be watching that this summer!!
Do you have a favorite show that you follow that is coming to an end until the fall?

Show Us Your Life-Favorite Books/Children's Books
Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a great weekend.. This week has been so busy, so I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Today at Kelly's Korner she is doing Show Us Your Life, our favorite books. This is the first time for me to participate! I loved a few select books as a child, and have loved two books in high school.
This book is so cute. Lilly love's school, and gets a new purple plastic purse that she wants to share at show-and-tell. The excitement gets to her, and gets her purse out before time. The teacher takes it up, and Lilly gets upset. She eventually gets her purse back, but it is really cute to read to little girls.
My mom read this book to me so much that it fell apart!! I haven't been able to find it anywhere either. The family are going to their grandmother's house, and the boy is being a slowpoke. It is funny.
Mom said she had to read this book to me every night for the longest time!! This book fell apart too, but we bought a new one for Chad to read, and he likes it too!
When I got older, I didn't like reading as much. In high school, I was required to read. Required reading sucks for me. But two books that were required reads actually stuck with me, and I wanted to continue reading them.
This is about a man who loses his wife, and three weeks later eloping with a woman he barely knows. This of course sparks gossip in the small town of Cold Sassy, and leaving a young boy caught between it all. If you haven't read this, you should!
This is a well known book to everyone. It is set in a small town in Alabama during the depression. A father defends a black man who is being accused of rape. The story is wonderful, and told by Scout, the father's daughter.
Don't forget to check out Kelly's blog and link up!

Mother's Day Weekend
Happy Mother's Day to all the blog mother's that I follow! I hope you had an amazing weekend. Our weekend was great. We bought my mom a really good card of course, and a $25 giftcard to Applebee's!! She has only been once, so she needs to go again =)
For my grandmother, we bought KFC, cooked baked beans, and my uncle cooked fried potatoes. YUM! My mom also did her famous Banana Pudding. NO ONE makes Banana Pudding like my mom!! It is great. We got my grandmother a card, and a birdhouse that looks like a small house, or shop, that says "The Gardener's Shed." It was really cute, and she loved it! I always love going to her house. She kept my brothers, cousins, and I while our parents worked. That is how we got so close, and we still love going to her house.
For my dad's mom, we bought her a really pretty pot of red tulips. They are not like ordinary tulips, they are a different kind that were so pretty. We went over to their house to visit for a few minutes. They haven't been around until about 7 years ago. They lived in Florida until then.
6 years ago today I lost someone very special in my life. What made it even worse, it was the during the night of Mother's Day. He had been sick for a while, and didn't go to the doctor. Unfortunately, he was so sick on Mother's Day, that we didn't get to see him, or say "See you later." 6 years, and it still hurts. Still doesn't make sense. But I know there is a purpose. My Grandpa (Paw) is missed everyday. Certain things we say or do reminds us of him. My little brother is just like him, which I absolutely love. It is hard for my grandma and mom on Mother's Day because they are reminded of the loss in our family.
I hope everyone has a great week! I get my new phone today and I'm super excited! FedEx can't get here fast enough!!

Spring? Or Summer?
Today felt more like a summer day than it has in past weeks. So we decided to go to the park for a while that is close to my house. I took a few pictures....
This is the basketball player. He played this past winter for a little league and really enjoyed it. So we went to the basketball court first. He loved it of course.
We took a little breather.....His face is already turning really red.
Then he wanted to go inside the park for a while.....

New Do
So today I headed to the salon to get Miss Britt to work her magic on my hair! I love the way she cuts my hair. It took me forever to finally find someone who I know I will stick with to do my hair. I knew she did hair for a long time before I ever went to her! That is sad! But now I know how good she is, and plan to stick with her fixing my hair. Here is a before.....
This is really the longest I have had it in about two or three years. My hair used to be like this, and maybe a little longer when I was in high school. Since then I have been cutting it relatively short. Here is the new......
Big difference huh?? I love it. I love the way she styled it. Sadly, we all know that what they do in the salon, doesn't always work when you do it yourself. Well, I haven't learned how anyways ha! So I wanted to play with it and see if I could do what she did......Ha it didn't work. I feel like I messed it up!! I can't figure out how she did.....THAT. So, I will be working on it for a while to see how to style it back the way she had it! I love the look though! I didn't realize how different 4 inches off of hair looked and felt! Thanks Britt!

Media Monday!
Today is Monday! The first Monday in May. This weekend was long. I stayed at home, and the two days went by slow for once. Usually my weekends are gone in the blink of an eye. The weather was rainy and windy all weekend. Luckily, the bad stuff missed us again for the second weekend in a row.
Today I'm posting pictures! I don't have a story behind these pictures, and I'm getting all of them from a search on yahoo images. I think these pictures are just so beautiful and breathtaking. Sunsets to me are a perfect time to set outside, listen to the breeze or birds, clear your mind, and relax. For me, sunsets are indescribably beautiful. I can't put into words what I'm thinking about when I'm sitting on the porch watching the sun disappear. I live on the bluff, so we can easily see the sun go behind the other mountain. These are pictures of the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy!!
Finally getting my haircut tomorrow with Miss Britt!! Maybe have pictures of that tomorrow!

Disappearance
I have vanished for a week. I guess I took a blog vacation ha! It has been a little busy here. I finished school completely. I cleaned and put away all my school things, like my books and binders. I sold a book to a friend, and have to give a friend back her book. Mom and I went shopping for a couple of days. It was fun like always! We went to Barnes & Noble to get a book that I have had my eye on. It was cheaper online than in the store, so I decided to wait and order it online. Instead, I bought a book that is about my favorite actor.
Heath Ledger was a superstar on the world stage, a good-hearted guy, a true romantic, a man who was dedicated to his craft and who loved a laugh. This is the definitive look at the real life of Heath Ledger from childhood to fully-fledged stardom, with exclusive personal insights from his family and friends. It is also very much a story about the beginning of a legend.
When he was just 17 years old, Heath drove across the country from his hometown of Perth in Western Australia to Sydney, determined to follow his passion for acting. It was not long before he became a celebrity on the world stage. But behind his journey to Hollywood, financial turmoil rocked his family. And while his death came as a surprise to the public, those who knew him best were aware of his problems. Those who knew him best were also aware of the allegations that he had fathered a child before his rise to fame.
Extensively researched by respected journalist Janet Fife-Yeomans, this beautifully written story of Heath Ledger is a tribute to his all too short life.
I got this their website. He was an amazing actor, and when I saw this book on the bargain table, I had to get it. He died January 22, 2008 and was only 28 years old. So far I really like this book. It is basically about his life and how he got to where he was in the U.S. If anyone hasn't watched any of his movies, you are missing out!
So I finished the spring semester with a 3.75 GPA!!! Woo-hoo! Three A's and a B. I'm glad I don't have to worry with school for a while. I can't believe April is already gone! May is full of so many things. Mother's Day, school usually ends and graduations, Memorial Day, and lots of other things. We have birthdays in May, and one sad day.....the day I lost my Grandpa (Paw). We still miss him like it was just last year that he went to Heaven.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! I also want to say sorry to Haley for not joining on Monday! I will definitely catch you this Monday!!
