The Day After

I love Christmas time. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, but I love the reason we celebrate Christmas. This Christmas was extra special. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I'm not gonna question it.

My family always gets together Christmas morning for a delicious breakfast at my Grandma's house. Then, my mom cooks a wonderful Christmas dinner. I always eat way too much, but it's worth it! This year, I started my Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve with my love's family. We went to his sister's house where we participated in Nerf gun fights with his nephews. Guns and bullets provided by me, which they opened as soon as we walked in the door. Later we ate good food and I watched my love and his twin play Madden 13 on the PS3. When I got home, I loved seeing my mom so giddy about wrapping presents. I haven't seen her that excited in a while. She was ready for us to open presents the next morning. She was so happy, which made me happy. I believe she had the best Christmas she's had in a while. She talked about how much fun she had shopping for everybody, and that made me so happy. She blessed us with so many gifts. Her and my dad work so hard to give my brothers and I things we need and want. They don't do near enough for themselves. I can't wait for the day that I can repay them, and I feel like that day is getting closer!

After we open presents at our house, we get ready to go next door to my Grandma's. My cousin came this year from Tenneessee, and I loved seeing them. We ate, and talked for hours. I loved seeing everyone, and watching the babies crawl around looking at everything going on. They are starting to get into the curious stage. When everyone left, I cleaned our gift mess and mom started on our Christmas dinner. This year my love came and ate with us. He and Chad played Xbox until time to eat. Then, he watched us play Disney Headbands. I bought that game for him, and as much as we've watched Disney movies, that game is pretty tough. We still had fun.

I really need to do a picture dump. Hopefully I'll have time for that soon. So much has happened that I want to record, but it needs a whole new post in itself. I'll record what gifts I was blessed with and thankful for.

Debate

A lot of things have been on my mind lately.
Trying to keep everything straight in this boggled brain of mine is a challenge in itself.
I put too much on myself, and worry about things that shouldn't even be worried about.

I didn't get a teaching job.
I know, I'm not the only one....quit complaining....right?
Anyway, I have always liked the idea of education.
I love being in school....weird....I know.
I want to further my education.
Without my master's, but without a new bachelor's.

Hmm.....

So here is my debate.....
Do I want to go back to school to further my bachelor's degree?
If yes, when?
What will I work on?
I love Reading and English.
I'd love to take all the Reading and English classes I could possible take.

But when?
Do I REALLY want to go back?
It's stressful, but I love learning.

Hopefully my decision will make itself.
Or something will just flop right in front of me, and I'll know right then what to do.

Finally November

This year has went by so very fast. It's finally my favorite month of the year.
My second favorite is May.
I love the spring and fall seasons for so many reasons.
It's hard to believe that it's already November. So much has happened.
I have so much to be thankful for.......

My wonderful family. They have been there for me through everything in my life. I have also put them through so much. They continue to stand beside me. I will never be able to repay them, or show them how much I appreciate their love and support. I love them so very much!

The roof over my head, the food that is provided for me, and the vehicle I have to get me where I need to go. My parents have done everything they can to keep my brothers and I taken care of.

The jobs that I have. I've never worked three jobs before, and I never thought I'd be able to even juggle that much. My Big C crew has been so very good to me over the past two years by working with my during college, and continuing to allow me to take off every afternoon so I can be at school. I'm so very thankful that they allow me to be a substitute any day that I'm asked to. They are very good to me. I love my after school job, the kids that we have, and my co-workers. I couldn't ask for better! I'm also very thankful for the teachers that call me to come in their classroom for the day and teach their students.

My friends that I've made the past year. I have met some great people. My co-workers are great friends. The people that I met at Athens are wonderful friends. The man in my life who I have fallen for is a great friend to me.

So many things, yet the words "thank you" don't speak loud enough. I love everything that is happening in my life. I am extremely blessed.

No Words

When you really think about it, it's weird how the blog world works. You browse blogs of people that you don't know. Read a couple of there posts, do a quick critique of their lives, and decide if you want to keep reading, or skip to the next one. When we start a following list, you read about these lives on a daily basis. You start to feel like you know this person, when in reality you haven't even met.

I am heartbroken for a blogger that I read regularly. It gave me chills to read this post about this little family from Arkansas. I can't imagine what Julee is feeling right now, but I can tell by reading blogs that everyone in the blog world is praying for her and her family.

Everything Changes

My life has been turned upside down the past month. Everything has just changed, and things are happening so very fast. I like to wish my life away in order to get where I wanna be. All the changes are sure helping the process out. I can't believe it's already mid September, football has officially started, and schools are getting ready to send out progress reports.....really??

This is what I've been doing.......

I got a job in a school. No, it's not a teaching job. I'm an assistant in the after-school program at the school I did my internship at. I have my foot in the door, and I hope to move up in the coming years. I absolutely love what I am doing. I'm an assistant to one teacher, and I also have a partner. Weird, but pretty awesome..... the other assistant is a girl that I went to school with! I haven't seen this girl in years. We have a lot of fun with our kids, and I love that we get along so well. I always worry that no matter what job I have, I won't enjoy my co-workers, or they won't enjoy me. Well, in this situation, I don't have to worry about that.

I'm still working at the "C". I work mornings and Saturdays, and I take off certain days so I can sub at the school I work at. Most days of the week, I start my work day at 8 am. I leave my school job at 5:30 pm. See where my time has gone??

My Momma also got a job working crazy hours! So I'm helping take care of Little Man while my parents are both working nights. Crazy, huh? I really like doing it though. My little brother and me get along really well. He's 10, so he always has lots of homework to do. He's really good about doing it though!! Doesn't complain or beg to skip it. He's pretty awesome.

In my "spare" time....haha...... I hang out with a wonderful man who I have become really fond of. One of my friends introduced us. Another weird thing is....we went to the same Technical School when we were in high school. We barely remember each other because we didn't talk to each other very much!

My 24th birthday is tomorrow! I can't believe it's already time for that again. Time really is flying by. But I feel so blessed and grateful for everything that is going on in my life. This past year has been a great one. I look back and see so many great things that have happened, and can't help but smile. I'm on my way to great things, and I can't wait to see what the future holds!!

Wednesday Love

I haven't blogged in well over a month, but I have been reading lots of blogs. I've also been on Pinterest nonstop. So addicting, that website. I've been working 40 hours a week for the past month. And, spending time with a certain someone whom I will blog about later. Here is what I'm loving on this Wednesday in which I am off work!!

I love looking at all the awesome teacher resources that are pinned! Makes me wish I had a teaching job so bad. I know my time will come!

Looks so yummy!

Definitely trying this!!!

All things come to an end.

What I'm referring to is the Subway job. I just posted about it, and I'm posting that I have quit.
Haha.
I feel bad that I quit. I really liked the job. It was a neat learning experience. There was so much to take in. I like challenges, and this one was definitely a challenge. It was dragging me down. Last week, I was in a terrible mood. I was so ill and edgy because I hadn't had much sleep from coming home late on Subway nights. Call me spoiled......but it was draining me. Luckily, the boss lady there is super understanding, and was glad to have me during that short time. Last night was my last night there.

My nose is healing extremely well! It's still a little red, but the cut is going away. I'm missing out on the summer though. I was directed to stay out of the sun as much as possible. I will be released July 19th. Then, I can go outside as much as I want.

I have so many pictures that I want to share. Since my computer is dead, and I'm using my brother's, I haven't had time to get him to get them on his computer. Hopefully I can get around to that soon!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I had a three-day weekend, and it went by way too fast. I was a lazy bum! It felt wonderful. I'll be lazy today too since it's pouring down rain.

That's how I feel....Sad that the weekend is over.

Friday, I woke up and headed to Huntsville for a small procedure to take a mole off the very tip of my nose. Most people say they never noticed it. But I saw it every time I looked in the mirror.

On my way to surgery

See the little red spot on the very tip of my nose? That's what I had removed. In this picture, it looks like a regular zit. It was actually a little bigger, and darker red than it looks in this picture. It just came up on my face when I was 16 or 17. That's when I noticed it. Anyway, it's finally gone. I'll post a picture of it when the stitches come out.

When the feeling came back Friday afternoon, wow did it hurt!! I found an old prescription of pain medication from when I had my wisdom teeth taken out, and that ended the pain. Now, I'm not hurting at all, which is really weird. I'm not complaining though!

Something new going on in my little life is I got a second job. I'll be working this one nights and weekends.

So I'm a pharmacy technician, and a sandwich artist. I don't know how long I'll stick with the Subway job, but I wanted to try it out. I need to catch up on my bills from being out of work during Internship. Maybe I can at least stick with it during the summer.

Last weekend was my Grandma's birthday. I always get excited about my grandma's birthday because we have dinner and get to see all the family. Everyone was actually present this year, except my brother, who had to work. I got to hold the new babies, and talk with the family. I'll post pictures of that day soon.

My grandma always requests a birthday cake that my Momma and I make. This year, she wanted a Triple Chocolate Cake. So, here is what we whipped up.....

She loved it!! It was sooo good. It's chocolate cake, with chocolate pudding mixed in, topped with a melted chocolate chip glaze, and sprinkled with chocolate chips. It was amazing. This is the first time we've ever made this kind of cake, and we will definitely make it again!

As far as the job hunt for a teaching position goes, still nothing. I hope to hear something soon!

Reality Television

I don't watch much t.v but when I do watch, most of the time it's reality t.v. It seems like this year's reality stuff was a blur to me because I was so busy and exhausted from internship. I do remember the winners of the reality shows.

My all time favorite would be Survivor. I used to think it was some dumb show where people went to exotic places and ate bugs. Ha, was I wrong. This show is very challenging, and full of drama. I'm not big on drama, no way. But watching other people's drama is pretty hilarious. They get so mad at each other because they lie and stab each other in the back. Um, Hello??? That's what survivor is about! Outwit. Outlast. Outplay.

The Amazing Race is just as drama-filled, but the challenge is more on my level, and something that I would actually take on. I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, but traveling I will do any day! These two-person teams go across the world taking on challenges to win money. Who wouldn't wanna do that? Travel the world on money that you are given, just to win money. Yes, please! I think for my two-person team, I would take my Momma.

Of course I like American Idol. I have watched it for years. I don't vote as much as I used to. I found that my vote really don't count, or some people would have never left the show. Anyway, some favorites coming out of Idol are David Cook, Chris Daughtry, Jordan Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, and the two newby's.... Colton Dixon and Phillip Phillips. I'm glad Phil won this season, but I was definitely pulling for Colton.

I have grown to like The Voice. I can't decide if I actually like it for the show, or that Adam is just so dang cute. I pull for his team every time. This year, most of those singers were terrible. I pulled for Tony Luca, and the guy that won this year....he was on Blake's team.

The Bachelorette cracks me up. I don't always watch the show. I didn't watch the last season of The Bachelor. I really liked Emily when she was on Brad's season, so I thought I'd watch to see what happens to her. I hate that she is on the show. I think she is way to sweet for that. She can do better than that show. But, I have a couple of favorite guys. Jef, Doug, Charlie, and I did like Ryan until he wrote her that book. So Ryan is on the fence for now.

Another show that I absolutely love is Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Food+Travel=My Dream. I would love to have Guy's job!!! Who could ask for a better job than his, I mean seriously. I never get tired of watching him eat tons of different foods. I watched his season of Food Network Star, and I liked him on there.

Since the original cast is graduating, I'm not sure if I'll keep watching Glee. I love that show, but I am also all about original cast members when it comes to shows like that. Kinda like the Boy Meets World thing.... They kept the same characters the whole time the show was on. I love that show :)

I'm glad that it is summer time, and the television shows end. More time to enjoy other things instead of worrying about catching up on DVR, ha!

Post Grad

Last weekend was very eventful and lacking sleep. It was pretty amazing, and something I will never forget.

My weekend started on Thursday (May 10th) with me going to the school I interned at for the 4th grade field day. I stayed outside with the kids and teachers all day. The kids had a blast! I loved being there watching them and talking with my teacher. Afterwards, my friend Kaci wanted to take graduation pictures to promote her business. It was so much fun laughing and hanging out with her! She has only posted two pictures as a sneak peak, and is giving me the disk with all the pictures on it soon.

I can't wait to see the rest of them. She did some cap and gown ones too!

Friday, mom and I went shopping for her a new outfit for graduation. It was so much fun! We haven't been shopping just the two of us in forever! When we got back, my brother and I headed to Nashville for a concert! He bought tickets to see Halestorm, Staind, and Godsmack for my graduation gift! Talk about amazing! I took pictures, but you can't really tell anything about them because we were not on the floor or anything. I love Staind, and have always wanted to see them in action!

The concert ended around midnight, and we got home around 3 am. I got ready for bed, and fell asleep around 4:30. I got back up at 5:30 to get ready to drive to Athens. We left around 6:30 because I had to be there at 8. Graduation was wonderful. I cried....a lot....but I wasn't the only one. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with Cum Laude honors. Graduating college is something I've always wanted to do, and I finally did it. It is something to accomplish a long-term goal such as this. It is still a little unbelievable a week later!

My wonderful Grandma

My uncle :)

Candace came too!

**Happy dance**

The job hunt has started. Here where I live, it's not a good thing to be graduating with an Education degree. No one is retiring, and there are so many graduates looking for a teaching position. It's gonna be hard, but I'm not being picky about where I go for a job. I will take whatever I can get, and work my way to the position I want!

As this chapter of my life comes to a close, I begin to wonder what is to come in the next chapter. I always think about the future. I like being in control of things, and knowing what's going to happen. It feels like I'm back in an open field with so many paths around me, and I'm waiting to find out which path is meant for me! I'm excited to see what's going to happen, and anxiously awaiting the results.

Weekend Randoms

I have had a relaxing weekend which is very odd for me! I am back to working full time, so I actually had a Saturday off which I didn't ask for. Wohoo! I put in 40 hours at that "C" this week. Bring on the moo-lah!

Yesterday, I was in and out of the house. It's hot down here in Northern Bama, and allergy season doesn't seem to cease, so of course I couldn't stay outside ALL day. I should have been laying out working on my tan, but Dad was mowing.
ME +FRESH CUT GRASS=DISASTER
Anywho, I had a hair appointment yesterday. I decided to go back to my dark color. I text a co-worker and said::: I'm back in black!!

I like it both lighter brown with caramel colors in it, but I also like the dark brown.....almost black color. So for graduation, It'll be dark :))
I don't have any pictures of it right now, but I will next weekend!

I joined Kelly's Korner linkup the other day, and wow at all the other awesome bloggers who joined as well!! What's even cooler is, I found ONE other blogger who is in Scottsboro, Alabama!! I don't know this blogger either, which is ever more awesome!! I have a new follower too!! Welcome Miss Heather from Cleveland, Georgia! Nice to "meet" you neighbor :))

Pinterest has consumed my free time. I am so freakin' addicted!! Check out my boards sometime!!

I also created a twitter account, although I'm not sure why. I have NO idea how to use it. I don't know anyone who has one. But I'm hoping maybe that will change soon!

I hope this week goes by so fast! Next weekend is going to be amazing! Friday, I go to Nashville with my Bro for a concert. Staind, Godsmack, and Halestorm!! Staind is my favorite, I don't listen to Godsmack, and I've seen Halestorm before. Then Saturday is the big day!!! I graduate from Athens State University!! I can't believe I am saying that!!

Here is a new picture of Mr. Bentley.....

Oh yeah, he is definitely ready for some football!! Roll Tide!!!

Fun While It Lasted

I am really bad about wondering why things happen. I'm rather impatient, and don't like uncertainty.

I have been busy worrying about........

Job applications
Filling out those job applications
Doing things right
Graduation its self!!

I am beyond excited about graduation and taking some days off from work to "relax". I think after graduation, I will be able to breathe normal again.

I really don't have much going on. I'm working nonstop again, and just waiting. The "Pretty darn adorable" Tristin has went M.I.A. for about a week. No telling what happened, But I must say it's all good :)

I want to share some pictures of Bentley! He made his arrival Tuesday night, April 24th.

Sporting that Tide Pride early :)

They got to go home Friday. Bentley is doing great! He's healthy and perfect. Mommy Ashley is doing better. She should be going uphill from here on out! I'm so happy for my cousin and his wife!

That's What I'm Doing These Days

I have gotten so behind on the whole Internship post and "journal" for myself. So I decided I'm close enough to the end of it to go back to normal, random updates of my boring life. Although, to me it hasn't been too boring here lately. I have so much to say, but can't find the words. So I'm gonna attempt it........

Internship--
Was amazing. It's hard to grasp the fact that I have put in 75 days of in-school service with both 2nd grade and 4th grade. It has been an unbelievable experience. I have had ups and downs with it due to the fact of the children, but I wouldn't trade them for the best performing and best behaving class. I loved the challenge. I have learned so much of what not to do, and what to do for my own class. It feels like a dream that I am finished. I'm so overwhelmed that it's over, and also overwhelmed of what to do next.....applications.

Alumni Conference--
We were required to attend the Alumni Conference at Athens for credit hours and sessions. We had a blast. Sadly, I didn't take pictures of us. I have had a awesome friend going to Athens with me this year, and we added a new friend to our ride last week. I wish we would have found her sooner! She is a lot like me, and we had so much fun. We attended two sessions to help us in our classrooms. There were a few to choose from, but only two sessions for that day, so we chose wisely. We attended the Bullying session, and the Gifted Students session. We ate great lunch at Applebee's, and had a blast talking the whole way there and back.

Job Fair--
Today, we attended the job fair at Athens. We had a blast again. The only schools that were there that I was most interested in were Madison County, Madison City, and Franklin County TN. I made my Teach In Alabama application "public" for all the school systems to see. I will be visiting Scottsboro City, Jackson County, and Marshall County Boards to turn in applications and resumes. I hope to visit some particular schools too!!

Graduation--
Is only 23 days away. Wow. Where has the time gone? Didn't I just start at Athens? It's crazy!! I don't know when it will ever sink in that I am a college graduate, that I am applying for jobs, and that I finally will be able to do what I've always wanted to do. What I've always felt in my heart was what I was supposed to do. I can't wait to see that paper, and participate in commencement exercises with my buddies!

Pictures--

My tassel for graduation!!

Miss Hayleigh enjoying some curly fries!

This is Mr. Bentley Kyle! My oldest cousin's baby is on the way. We are hoping for him to make an appearance next week! My cousin is like my big brother, so I am extremely excited about him and his wife having a baby! My Grandma's first Great-Grandbaby!! Talk about spoiled :)

This is Tristin. He's pretty darn adorable.
Not sure what's gonna happen, or where it will go, but I sure do enjoy his company :)

Internship (Week 12)

I didn't post anything for spring break because all I did was work. I put in 40 hours, and had my first Saturday off this year with zero plans. If I have taken a Saturday this year, it was because of pre-made plans. However, I can't even remember what I did. The past two weeks have been an absolute blur. I'm stressed to the max (no surprise there) and I'm extremely ready for college to be over.

Week 12 was my last week teaching. I'm so glad. The kids were worn out from spring break, and rather quiet this week. I now get to sit back and just help them the best I can for the next two weeks. My supervisor was supposed to come and do one last observation. He was a no-show. Boooo!!! So I have no clue if he is coming before the Internship is over, or if he is not coming.

I'm very ready for Internship to be over, ready for graduation, and anxious to know if I have a job this fall!!

3/25/2012

Internship (Week 11)

There isn't much to say about this week. It didn't go according to plan. I'm learning that it's hard to make plans sometimes with students. Anywho, I do want to brag on my kids for passing their grammar test this time! They did wonderful. Out of 27 kids, only 5 made a D or lower. I was so glad! It was simple mistakes they made to make such a low grade. I grabbed them one by one to have a one-on-one talk about the test and what they did wrong. Once I explained it, they were answering the questions like "boom, boom, boom."

Friday we were supposed to go on a field trip. It was to a battlefield for a reenactment. It rained. We couldn't go. So the kids did their egg activity. They enjoyed it, and their stories were super cute!! We put them in the hall for a few days.

We are on spring break this week. Only, I'm not doing anything fun haha! I'm working everyday for spring break. My fun time will come soon enough!

3/18/2012

Internship (Week 10)

The first week of teaching 4th grade was a mixture of success and failure. I enjoyed it more than I ever imagined I would! The bad part is, majority of the kids failed the grammar test Friday :(

I was teaching by my teacher's lesson plan book. This past week, she was going to do prepositions and phrases. I remember learning prepositions and prepositional phrases when I was in 3rd grade. We had what the called the "Shirley Method" and all of the parts of speech came with a jingle. I enjoyed learning that way because it was easy to remember. They don't teach with that method anymore. So I did the best I could with it. They didn't get it :(

Out of 55 fourth graders, I think 7 understood it and passed. Therefore, this week I will be reteaching. Spring break is coming up, and we have a field trip on Friday, so I hated to start another weekly story with spelling and vocabulary words to learn when we wasn't going to be able to test on them Friday. Since the kids didn't grasp prepositions, she let me decide to reteach, go further in depth with it, and spend more time on prepositions. I also plan to have a writing prompt with them. I will be reading Bently & egg which is really cute!! The kids will write about what they would do if they were taking care of an egg. I found an egg shape, but I can't figure out how to print the lines on it for them to write :(

I'm hoping this week I can teach them prepositions better. I understand it's super complicated to grasp. So I'm hoping we can go at it slowly, and learn it!!

I wanted to share a game that I saw in a 6th grade field experience classroom. She played Jeopardy with her students using ELA categories. I loved it, and decided to play it Thursday with my kids as a review game. My categories were Spelling, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Moonwalk, which was our weekly story. Each category had 5 questions. Each question was worth 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 points. The kids worked as teams, and I like this idea because it practices teamwork! In spelling, I had words that were going to be on their spelling test. Grammar was finding the preposition or phrase in a sentence. Vocabulary was telling the definition of a word, and they had to tell the word. Moonwalk was questions about the story that I found on the test. They absolutely LOVED it!! One of my groups played it 3 times!!! I loved the idea, and now love it even more knowing they liked it so much. It was really fun, and they were preparing for there test at the same time :)
Always a plus!!

Internship is flying by! I can't believe I'm almost finished!!

3/11/2012

Internship (Week 9)

This was my first full-functioning week in 4th grade. I was finally able to see how things roll in this classroom. I love the class I'm in. At the school I'm at, there are four 4th grade units. Two pair up and teach a certain thing, and the other two pair up and do the same. My pair are really fun. The room I'm in teaches English and Reading two times a day. Once to her homeroom, and once to her partner's class. Then, our homeroom gets Math and Science from her partner. Each teacher is responsible for Alabama History for their homeroom class. I like that set up. I like that I was placed with English and Reading because those two subjects are my favorite.

Their schedules are so crazy though!!  Here we go......

Mondays: I see homeroom kids for 30 minutes when they first get in. We switch classes, and I spend 2 hours with the other class which I call "his kids". Our partner teacher is a male. Anyway, then we switch back, and I get my kids back for an hour and a half before lunch. When we get back from lunch, I get them for another hour. When they come back from specials, it's time to go.

Tuesdays: The morning schedule is the same, switching and everything. But when we come back from lunch, I get my kids for another hour and a half.

Wednesdays: This is by far the wildest day I've ever seen in school. The morning schedule is the same. When we come back from lunch, I don't see the kids at all until it's time to go. Computer lab, Counseling, and the regular schedule of P.E. at the end of the day. So, we are child-free from two hours. Strange.

Thursdays: Exact same schedule as Tuesday. These two days are the only days we can fit in any Alabama History. For two days a week of teaching History, she does a great job and keeps the kids on the same page. They are not behind or anything, they are right on task.

Fridays: Test days as usual and free time.

I start teaching this week. I have been working on plans all weekend, and I'm pretty excited about getting started. Part of me wonders if I'm gonna end up liking the big kids better than the little kids, or will I stick to the little ones. I've always said that I would rather teach the little ones. I just don't know if I could handle the big ones. I WILL teach it if I have to, no doubt!!

As of right now, I'll be teaching for two weeks. The third week is Spring Break (Yay). And I'll teach the first week of April. If nothing happens, my last day of internship will be April 25th!!

Internship (Week 7 and 8)

These two weeks were pretty slow, so this is going to be a short post. Week 7 was split in half. I finished up 2nd grade, and transitioned into 4th grade. Week 8 was the first full week of 4th grade. It was crazy! The half of the week I was in 4th grade was an absolute chaos to me. We went on a field trip on that Friday to the Symphony in Huntsville. I enjoyed it, but some of the kids got a little impatient. They are 10 for crying out loud :)

The full week, week 8, was a little bit crazy too. Monday was a full, on task day. Tuesday, I woke up with a stomach virus. Ew. So I didn't go to school that day. Let me just note that this stomach virus makes virus number 2 for the YEAR. Yes, I've caught 2 viruses this year, and it's just the beginning of March. Wednesday, the way the school has our students' schedules set up, we only have "class" half the day. From 11:30 to 12 is lunch, from 12 to 1 is computer lab, 1 to 1:30 is Counseling, and 1:30 to 2 is P.E. So, they are only in the classroom for half the day. Thursday as a full day. Friday was Dr. Suess's birthday. But, our day was cut short due to severe weather that was headed our way that afternoon, so we left at 11:30.

So, I have barely observed a full functional school day in 4th grade! I'm hoping this coming week is better. As of right now, we are planning on me teaching the next week. I'll teach for two weeks, then we will have spring break. A good way to wrap up my teaching is ending at spring break. We will see how it goes! \

Let's Play A Game

I'm gonna call it......

Random Catch Up.

So much is going on right now, I have fallen behind on my internship status. I hope to update for the past 2 weeks either tomorrow or Sunday. For the past two weeks, I've.....

  • Worked on my unit for school
  • Played on Pinterest :)
  • Found a few teacher blogs that I'm loving!
  • Transitioned to 4th grade
  • Adjusted to the transition
  • Had a night out with the coworkers
  • Stressed out to the max of stress!

Now, I'm doing much better and have had a wonderful week. I even worked Monday-Thursday, and STILL in a good mood! I have been wanting to keep a log of the teacher blogs I have found that I am adoring. They have tons of teaching ideas, and units that you can buy from the TPT page.

These blogs will definitely be added to my favorites list. I have been stressing out about my unit for way to long. I'm so ready for it to be finished. It's due this Sunday, so only a couple more days of toying with it. Then, I finally put it behind me! I have been absolutely loving the school I'm at. The teachers there are so welcoming, helpful, and so funny with their stories. I'm going to miss being there when I finish in late April.

My cousin and his wife are expecting a baby! I'm so excited, and their baby shower is tomorrow. I haven't seen them since Christmas because they live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. They both work, and we all work down here, so we just never find time to visit. Sad, huh. That's life....

Anywho, today has been a stormy day in Northern Bama. Tornadoes hit in Madison County, next to our county. It's been crazy here. I took this picture after a storm passed through our community......

Yep, hail storms that were in our yard. Those are the biggest ones, and there were a bunch of small ones too. I went to check on my Stang, luckily no dents or dimples. We are all okay up here.

American Idol is one of my very favorite shows. It's finally decided of who the top 13 is. I have my favorites....

Colton Dixon

Phillip Phillips

Elise Testone

Skylar Laine

I'm loving who they have on the show this season! It's high time a girl win American Idol again. My pick is Skylar. I hope it comes down between her and Colton!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I have lots that I'm loving this week!! So much is happening, and it's happening so fast. It's exciting, but I definitely am starting to feel nerves, along with butterflies :)

I'm loving...... That this week was a "short" week thanks to our Presidents!

I'm loving...... The deals I got yesterday at Rue 21! I was going to take pictures, but my phone doesn't take the best, detailed pictures. I tried, and it looked horrible :( SOOOOO....... I'll tell details instead of showing them. I bought: A pink and gray sweater for $2.00, a red and green striped long sleeve shirt for $2.00, a SUPER cute white tank with flowers along the neckline for $7.49, and a very pretty floral short sleeved, short cover jacket thingy..... $2.00. Yes, I saved $40 at Rue yesterday. Talk about a happy girl!

I'm loving...... That I filled out and submitted my Certification papers yesterday!! One step closer. Closing my college chapter. Getting certified to teach in the State of Bama. Wow.

I'm loving...... This super warm winter we are having down here in the South! Beats the winter we had last year that's for sure! Although..... I did buy snow boots this year. Looks like I won't be trying them out anytime soon.

I'm loving...... That tomorrow I start 4th grade in my internship! Yes, I am halfway finished. Today was my last day in 2nd grade. It was kinda sad. The kids asked if I could stay until December :)

I'm loving...... My pins that I am finding on this addicting website called Pinterest!!

Must-have for my classroom!

Pizza Grilled Cheese.....Yes, Please!!
