I know it is not today, but it is tomorrow! I don't think I will be posting tomorrow, so I decided to talk about it today. Have I mentioned how excited I am about beginning a new year??
My four days left of working at CVS quickly turned into one! Yes, tomorrow is my last day of working at CVS in Scottsboro!! Wahoo! I know it will go by so slow, but I sure hope it ends up going fast. I will be working with someone I have never worked with from Stevenson store. So I don't know how that is going to go. I can't to get some work in schools close by. I just hope it works out like I want it to. Everyone that I talk to about it says that I will be overwhelmed with work. I hope they are right. I have such a good feeling about it!
I don't usually do a new year's resolution. But this time, I have come up with a plan that I sure hope I stick to. I think I will have more time to stick to it since I won't be working hard everyday. I will actually feel like doing what I plan. So the plan......
I want to start watching what I eat, portion what I eat, and fitting in a little bit of exercise. I usually eat just whatever I want, however much I want. I have recently been reading on a website that you can pretty much eat whatever you want even if you are on a diet. This however, is not a diet for me. I don't consider myself overweight for a diet. I call it my "get fit" plan. Anyways, you can eat whatever you want even if you are on a diet. There is not a food that is unacceptable to eat. The fact of the matter is portions. If you don't portion your food, you will not get anywhere. So this is what I am going to try to do. It also says that getting around 30 minutes of exercise will help. I used to go to the Rec Com two or three times a week. So I am hoping I can get into some little working out habit at home. Maybe a video....or something.
I hope I can stick with it!! I usually get bored and just stop. I have tried something similar to this and I ended up giving up. But since I know that I can still eat anything, I just have to portion it and eat it right, I might have a shot at winning this and keep it going. Ring in the New Year!! Hello 2010!

Julie & Julia
I watched a really good movie with my mom last night based on the cook Julia Child. I remember watching her when I was little. The movie is a collaboration of two stories. One being of Julia Child and how she started cooking. The other on a woman, Julie, who loved Julia, and longed to cook like her. She decides to blog 365 days and 524 recipes of Julia's. Julie blogs about everything that she went through to cook, and eventually begins to have fans. I think the blog, or something of that nature, ends up being a book. So it is time for a trip to Barnes & Noble for me.....I want to read it, or at least have a copy of it. I would love to stumble upon a blog like what was in the movie. If I had tons of free time and the money, I would like to start something like that. I really like cooking and trying new foods, so it would be really fun.
Week number one of me being sick. I haven't felt this yucky in a while. I don't remember getting this sick last year. I guess it is about time now. It is sinus junk, along with a scratchy sore throat. Chad had it, and I think I got it from him. When I told him that, he said, "I feel like a bad person for getting you sick." That made me feel so bad!! I told him that he was not a bad person, that we can't help the spreading of germs in a family. Once one gets it, everyone will get it. Trav has it too. Up next is mom, who has managed to not catch it yet.
Four more work days at CVS. It feels so weird, but not in the "I'm gonna miss it" weird. I have been there for 19 months. The longest I have ever worked a job. I can't wait to start something new. I have never been this excited about a new year coming. I can't stop talking about it! Some people look back at the past year and talk about everything that happened. Not me. I had some awesome times, but the bad covers up the good. Some things I will never forget, and some I long to forget.

So This Is Christmas.......
Today was a pretty amazing day even if I was sick. I have had some kind of throat thing going on for a few days. I had a lot of fun at Grandma's house this Christmas. Everyone was there, except for Josh and Ashley because he had to work. They are coming down tonight, and visiting us tomorrow. This morning was great at the house. Chad liked everything that he got. He has so many games to play he goes from one to the other every few minutes. Trav got a lot of games too, and Public Enemies movie. I received a Houndstooth purse from my mom, both my parents bought me movies: The Ugly Truth, Role Models, and The Hangover. They also bought me a really pretty red sweater, a jacket, and a JCPenney gift card. Travis bought me a matching Houndstooth wallet. My purse is lined in black, and my wallet is lined in Crimson. Perfect match!!
We always eat breakfast at my grandma's house on Christmas morning. We had a lot of fun this year. The main topic of conversation was....Alabama Football of course. The guys just couldn't stop talking about it. While they chatted, us ladies watched Hannah Grace explore. She opened up to us more this time than any other time they have came up here. She was so cute in her outfit!!
This was the first time she had seen Jeremy in about a year. She didn't know what to think! She would just smile at him.

She was really happy today. Loved exploring everything and jabbering to everyone. When we asked her a question, she would shake her head the right answer. It was so cute. We wondered if she really knew what she was saying. I would ask her, "Will you come take a picture with me?" And she shook her head yes, and walked over and sat with me. She let all of us hold her, or play with her. This is not normal, so we were kinda in shock about it. At Thanksgiving, she didn't let any of us touch her.
This was the first time she had seen Jeremy in about a year. She didn't know what to think! She would just smile at him.
She kept sitting my grandma. She would keep calling her "Nana," which is what she calls April's mom. She called Jeremy, "Meme." It was the cutest thing! She couldn't get my name anywhere close. She would try, and her tongue would come way out. It was funny.
We cooked a ham dinner this evening for us. I, of course, had veggies. It was so good. This year had been rough for me and my family. For Christmas to be over already means that it is just getting closer to the start of a new year. A fresh start in my eyes. I'm really excited about it. I'm so glad God has blessed me with such an amazing family. He blessed us today in many ways. He even gave us a little snow to top off a great Christmas.
Happy Birthday Jesus

Is It Really Time??
I can't believe Christmas is only 4 days away. It was so funny yesterday in the car with Trav. We went to Huntsville on our shopping spree. When I am in the car, I flip channels like crazy. So I was doing my normal channel search.....going through 99.1, 103.1, 103.5, and 104.3 and there was pretty much nothing on. So I stopped on 103.5 and guess what.....they were playing Christmas. I said, "Why the crap are they playing Christmas??" Trav says, "Maybe because it is 5 days until Christmas!!" I can't believe it is here. It just doesn't seem like Christmas to me. I see trees, lights, and gifts but it just doesn't seem real. Something is missing.........Maybe I will put my finger on it sometime.
I only have 9 more days of working at CVS. Super excited person here!! Today was the first day since I left the letter that I talked to Boss. She was actually ok about the whole thing. She has someone coming after I leave from another store to replace me. I am just glad that it is not bad like I thought it would be.
Grades are posted for the fall semester. I am so-so happy about them. I have three A's and one B. The one B is coming from an instructor that is extremely hard to deal with. She doesn't offer any help, even if you email her. I knew that there was no way I would get an A for her class. I know now to never take her for anything else. So glad I don't have to even think of Athens State University for a few days!!

14 Days
School for the semester is finally over!! I finished my last assignment Monday. Boy did it feel good. The only left to do now is wonder what my final grades are. The weirdest thing is going on about that. Today, I sign on my account to look at my grades, and there is nothing there. It says that I am currently not enrolled in any classes. So my guess is that the grades will be mailed. Which sucks because that means more waiting. I am so anxious to know what I ended with. 4.0 is what I am wishing for! I worked really hard this semester, and there was a lot of work to be done.
I turned in my notice today at work. Boss wasn't there though. She will get it Saturday. She won't like it, but I feel like I have got to get out of there. It is so stressful, and for no reason! It's not like I was going to spend my whole life working there. She will make a big deal about me leaving though. Especially with Patsy gone. Patsy had to have surgery. They found out she has cancer, and the operation was on Tuesday. Doctor said that she probably will not feel like coming back to work. All I have heard ever since last week was, "We really need to work together and work harder since Patsy is gone." This, coming from Boss. The whole time I have been thinking, "Ha ya'll can work harder." I have planned this before I found out Patsy was having surgery. I know she will try to get me to change my mind. It is not gonna happen.
In the notice, I put that my last day would be December 31st. This gives her two weeks to find a replacement. I will be subbing in three schools starting in January. I am really excited about this change, and hope that it works out. I think I will be less stressed, and will have plenty of time to get my school work finished. I'm excited about starting the new year!!

Time Is Going By
I have had a lot on my mind here lately. I was looking at past posts and I usually don't post this often. I guess there is a lot going on that is important to me. I'm ready for some changes. Some that I can make, and some that I can't. Some I have to be patient for. Which we all know is hard for me!
I did some volunteer work at the library today for an assignment for 301. It was fun with Shannon and Lacinda. I can tell they enjoy their jobs. I mean who wouldn't?? I could leave that option open for later instead of the whole counselor idea. There are just so many options for this career. I hope that my paper will be good enough for the professor. I'm past ready for this to be over. Seems like the closer it gets, the slower it is! That always happens. When you are anxious for a certain date to arrive, when it is far away it seems like forever. Then you look and it is like a week away. And it takes forever for that week to get by. But again, I look back and wonder where the time went? Am I really finishing up this semester? It is weird. I am ready to stop working on school work for a while. Bottom line is, I'm ready for this year to end. I have so many new adventures for next year.

Winding Down
My biggest assignment, that took all semester to work on, is finally completed and turned in. I feel a party coming on. Celebration! Forget about that assignment and move on! Finally. For Children's Literature, we had to do a book project. We had to read 36 books, and do a summary and critique them. I bet you are thinking, "36 books isn't too bad." Well, here is the catch, it has to be of a certain category. I read chapter books, picture books, and informational books. I am tired of books, books, books!! We did historical fiction, realistic fiction, series, and others. It was crazy, but lesson learned. I understand a lot more about literature than I used to.
Out of all the Charlie Brown shows, the Christmas one is by far my favorite. It is really funny, and they tell the true meaning of Christmas. I love the music to Charlie Brown too. Christmas music in general is great. It just doesn't seem like Christmas to me, and I don't know what it is going to take. Christmas lights are on everyone's houses, trees are up, and it is December. I guess because I'm at the age where I don't want anything, gift wise, for Christmas.
We had a discussion at the brunch table Sunday, by the way, this is the only time everyone eats together at my house. Sunday afternoons. That is all. How sad!! Anyways, we were having a discussion about gifts. How I don't see the part about keeping it a secret, and as long as we have our family, why have gifts too. Trav, who is sitting beside me, gives me the most, "What???" look ever. His looks are priceless. Anyways, I asked him if he wanted to know what I was planning to get him, and he said no, he liked the suspense. I remember when I liked the suspense. I told him that feeling would be gone in about a year. It is funny how we are a certain way one year, and totally different the next. Looking back on it, I think about how much I have changed, and Trav too. Even Chad. It is just amazing to me to see change.
Today was my first time subbing! It just so happened that someone needed a sub on my off day. I jumped on it of course! I subbed at Woodville in the library. It was good, but I didn't have any classes. I just sat there making sure everyone who came in was being good pretty much. I was asked by three different people if I could sub this week. I had to sadly say no. I explained that I was still at CVS, but starting January, I was going to be able to sub anytime. So everyone there knows that now, and hopefully I will get a lot of work. If not, I still have two other schools to count on. I talked to a sub who has been subbing at Woodville for a long time. She gave me a few good pointers that I plan to use. I am so ready for that to start, but so nervous to tell Boss.

Welcome Back Winter Once Again
My title to this one comes from a song. I was on facebook on night reading status updates, and a friend had posted his status as lyrics. The lyrics were awesome, so I asked what song it was and who it was by. He by the way, is into music about as much as I am, possibly more. He told me, and the singer goes by Owl City. At first, I thought it was a group, until I visited the page and found it is just one guy. I downloaded the newest CD he has, and I have been listening to it pretty much nonstop. The title to this is the beginning lyrics to "The Tip of the Iceburg." Some of the lyrics make you wonder, "Is he high?" But I find it fun to listen to. It is something different for sure, and some of the songs make perfect sense.
Anyways, purpose for this, it snowed!! I have many pictures from it snowing Friday night, and us playing in it Saturday. I woke up around 7:45 and looked outside to see white. So I got up, bundled up, and woke up Little Man. We went out around 8 or so, and played in it until 10 or 10:30. He loved it. It was freezing but so much fun! Mom heard from one of the weathermen that they are predicting a cold, icy, snowy winter this year. I am hoping for it! It is about time Little Man had some fun in the wintertime. I hope it ices enough to take him to the hill to go sledding. We had so much fun doing that when we were little. It is weird how weather changes so much. We go from sledding every year, to years without sledding. I hope this year will be a turn around.
Christmas is coming fast, and I have bought one gift. It doesn't seem like it should be Christmas time to me. It is December already?? Where are the years going?? That is what I get for being too busy, and I honestly think that I am too busy. I have been for the past two years. I can't remember hardly anything that happened in 2008.....Weird?! I remember this year when I wish I couldn't. So many things happened this year, mostly bad, but a few good. I am really excited to see what happens next year though. I have so many plans, and I hope they all go accordingly!
